A warlock is a practitioner who has, either purposefully or accidentally, broken at least one of the seven laws of magic.

Description[edit | edit source]

Warlock is a catch all term, including necromancers, psychomancers, people who have killed mortals with magic, or practiced black magic. Barring extenuating circumstances, a warlock found out by Wardens, is summarily executed, or killed in the attempt of escaping apprehension.

In the series[edit | edit source]

Proven Guilty[edit | edit source]

In Proven Guilty, Molly Carpenter was tried by the Senior Council after she mind-controlled her friends to protect their baby from their drug addictions. She was nearly executed by Merlin and Morgan until her father, Michael Carpenter arrived with the missing Senior Council members, having just contacted them. She ends up being put under the Doom of Damocles, under the mentorship of Harry Dresden.[1]

Ghost Story[edit | edit source]

In Ghost Story, Molly Carpenter is now considered a warlock under the Doom of Damocles after Harry Dresden vanished and was presumed dead.[2]

Skin Game[edit | edit source]

In Skin Game, Harry Dresden thinks that most of them are misguided kids unaware of the Seven Laws of Magic and ignorant of the White Council's existence.[3]

Warlock Hannah Ascher joins Nicodemus Archleone's team attempting to rob Hades' Vault.[3]

"Zoo Day"[edit | edit source]

In "Zoo Day", Austin is a teenage warlock, left to his own devices and scared out of his wits, which Harry Dresden decides to take under his wings.[4]
