Earth magic is a branch of magic influencing earth, dirt, rocks, and magma. It is first seen in Grave Peril.

Description[]

Vulcanomancy[]

The spell can call up molten rock and fire and its incantation is "Flammamurus!"

When the spell was used during the Battle of the Deeps, it resulted in a wall of molten stone and fire coming up out of the ground.[1]

Dead Beat[]

In Dead Beat, Donald Morgan used earth magic against Harry Dresden after Dresden shot Corpsetaker in Anastasia Luccio's body. Morgan shouted something in Greek to send waves of earth at Dresden.[2]

Turn Coat[]

In Turn Coat, Harry Dresden attempts a series of elemental spells to combat the guardian of Demonreach. He uses "Geodas" to dig a sinkhole underneath the entity. The guardian was unphased, and remained standing on empty air.[3]

Changes[]

In Changes, Harry Dresden notes earth magic isn't his forte, but Ebenezar McCoy made sure he learned one spell. When hiding Bob, two Swords of the Cross, and a bag of illicit goods, he used "Dispertius" to dig a deep hole in the ground of the Nevernever as a hiding spot, and "Resarcius" to cover the hole.[4]
