Dr. Helena Pounder is the mother of Irwin Pounder, whom she conceived with Strength of a River in His Shoulders. She first appears in "B is for Bigfoot".

Description[]

Dr. Pounder is an impressive woman, 6'4" tall and possibly able to benchpress more than Harry Dresden can. Not really pretty, her face is open and honest and her eyes are sparkling and springtime green.[1] Dresden thinks of her as a mama bear.[1][2]

In the series[]

"B is for Bigfoot"[]

In "B is for Bigfoot", she admits to being an archaeologist and having met Strength of a River in His Shoulders at a dig in Ontario when she stayed late in the fall and let herself be caught by the snow. They didn't marry.[1]

She informs Harry Dresden that Irwin Pounder started coming home with injuries, which were probably worse earlier in the day. She started bringing him to school and back home, though there have been no more injuries, this is not a viable solution; she also informs him that she is not interested in courts, just her son's wellbeing.[1]

"I Was a Teenage Bigfoot"[]

In "I Was a Teenage Bigfoot", she is in contact with Harry Dresden and agrees to leave her digs in Canada to be near her son as soon as possible.[2]
